Tell us a little bit about yourself, your background, your interests, etc.
I was raised in Tippah County and graduated with a master's degree from Delta State in Business Education. After college, I began my 38-year teaching career at South Delta School District. I was married to Jerry Grant, now deceased, and have a daughter (Laurie) and four grandchildren. This is my second year at SIA.
Do you have a favorite book? How about a favorite movie?
I have many favorite books and authors. My favorite movie is Sound of Music.
If you could wake up in the morning and start a new adventure, what would it be?
I would enjoy traveling around the United States.
What is your favorite thing about teaching?
I enjoy the interaction with students, teaching new material to them, and watching them grow to become seniors.
When you're not working, how do you spend your time?
When I'm not working, I enjoy reading and trying new recipes. I also enjoy spending time with family.
What might we be surprised to know about you?
Although I don't use the ham radio anymore, I have a General Class Amateur radio license (Ham radio) and my call sign is N5DWG.
